How to explain a Plumber to your child

A plumber works with pipes and water systems inside homes, schools, and other buildings. They use wrenches, pipe cutters, and special cameras to find leaks and clogs. When a toilet won't flush or a sink drips all night, a plumber figures out what's wrong and fixes it. They might crawl under a house to replace old pipes, or install a brand-new bathtub in someone's bathroom.

This work keeps clean water flowing to every faucet and makes sure dirty water goes safely away. Without plumbers, you couldn't wash your hands, take a warm shower, or fill up a glass of water to drink. When something breaks—like a pipe that bursts and floods the kitchen—a plumber stops the water and repairs the damage so families can use their home again.
