Parent guilt is a very real thing. We've all felt it — that heavy pinch in the heart when we close the office door or log back on after hours. Work shouldn't be a mystery that steals parents away. It should be a story that brings families closer.
Our mission is to address a genuine emotional gap by turning absence into adventure.

Krizia, Luis & Luisito
I created this site because I know exactly what it's like to balance a high-stakes career with the high-stakes job of being a Mami.
As an insurance defense attorney, my days are filled with complex situations that need solving and rules. For a long time, my son Luisito didn't see what I was doing and why. He just saw the closed door or me working late.
I realized that Luisito didn't need to understand my billable hours — he needed to understand my purpose, my why. I wanted to create a space where our children see our professional lives not as a barrier, but as a bridge to a better world.
When I started telling Luisito stories about how Mami helps people who are scared and don't understand the legal process, the “why is Mami working?” disappeared and was replaced by a sense of pride.
When we tell our children our stories, we don't just explain where we went — we show them a little bit about who we are.
When a child understands that Mami is a master problem-solver, or Papi is a master builder, the narrative changes.
Confusion
Pride
Separation anxiety
Inspiration
"I have to work"
"I have a mission"
Whether you are defending a claim, serving our country, performing surgery, or coding the next big app — you are a hero in your child's eyes. We're just here to help you tell that story the same way I do for Luisito.
Welcome to Once Upon a Workday.
Let's make every goodbye the start of a new adventure.
