DMCA / Copyright Policy

October 6, 2026

Once Upon a Workday respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. This policy explains how to report suspected copyright infringement and how we respond, in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.

File a DMCA takedown notice →

1. Filing a Notice of Copyright Infringement

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, you (or your authorized agent) may submit a written notice to our Designated Copyright Agent below. To be effective, your notice must include substantially all of the following, as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works are covered by one notice).
  • Identification of the material you claim is infringing, and information reasonably sufficient to let us locate it — for example, the exact page URL (e.g. a `/library/{story-id}` link).
  • Your contact information — at minimum, an address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

You can submit your notice using our DMCA takedown form, or by emailing our Designated Copyright Agent directly.

2. What Happens After We Receive a Notice

Upon receiving a notice that includes all of the elements above, we will review it and, where appropriate, expeditiously remove or disable access to the identified material and notify the user who posted it. We may reject incomplete notices and ask you to resubmit with the missing information.

Submitting a knowingly false or materially misleading takedown notice may expose you to liability for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), including costs and attorneys' fees.

3. Counter-Notification

If you believe your content was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification to our Designated Copyright Agent. To be effective, your counter-notification must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.

If we receive a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the original complaining party. Unless that party informs us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the user from engaging in the infringing activity, we will restore the removed material within 10 to 14 business days of receiving the counter-notification, as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g).

4. Repeat Infringer Policy

In appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, we will suspend or terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers — users against whom we have received multiple valid, substantiated infringement notices.

Notices and counter-notifications under this policy should be directed to our Designated Copyright Agent:
