How to explain a Mechanic to your child

A mechanic fixes machines that help us get around and do important work—things like cars, trucks, buses, and construction equipment. When a mechanic fixes your family's car, you can get to school safely. When they repair a delivery truck, groceries and packages can reach the store. They help construction workers keep building houses and roads by making sure bulldozers and cranes run smoothly. Mechanics notice small problems before they become big, dangerous ones—like catching a crack in a belt before it snaps on the highway.
