How to explain a Marketing Manager to your child

A Marketing Manager figures out how to tell people about things they might want to buy or use. They spend their days looking at numbers on computers to see who's interested in their product, talking with designers to make ads and posters, and meeting with teammates to plan special sales or events. For example, if a company sells a new kind of sneaker, the Marketing Manager decides where to show pictures of it—maybe on a website, in a store window, or in a video—so the right people will notice and want to try it.

This work matters because it helps people find things that make their lives easier or more fun. Without someone doing this job, you might never hear about a toy you'd love, or a class your parent wants to take, or a store that just opened nearby. Marketing Managers connect the people who make stuff with the people who need it, so nothing gets lost or forgotten on a shelf somewhere.
