How to explain a Facilities Manager to your child

A Facilities Manager is the person who makes sure a building works properly every single day. They walk through offices, schools, or hospitals checking that the lights turn on, the heat and air conditioning keep everyone comfortable, and the elevators run safely. They use clipboards, computers, and walkie-talkies to talk with repair workers, cleaning crews, and delivery people. For example, if a water pipe breaks or the front door lock stops working, the Facilities Manager calls the right person to fix it fast.

This work matters because buildings are full of people who need things to work smoothly. When the Facilities Manager keeps the bathrooms clean, the playground safe, and the hallways well-lit, kids can focus on learning and grown-ups can do their jobs without worrying.
