An electrician works with wires, switches, outlets, and circuit breakers—all the things that bring electricity safely into homes, schools, and stores. They drill holes, pull cables through walls, connect wires to panels, and test everything to make sure the power flows just right. For example, they might install the outlets in a new house or fix the lights in a restaurant kitchen that suddenly went dark.

This work matters because electricity powers almost everything we use—lights so we can see at night, refrigerators that keep our food fresh, computers for school, and even the chargers for our tablets. Electricians make sure all these things work safely, so wires don't spark or cause fires.
